The Dishes are Done: Dispatches from Domesticity was an exhibition curated by Jessie Clark, Veronica Cianfrano, and Lauren McCarty at Gallery 224 in Philadelphia in July, 2011. These were works selected for their consideration of the domestic and arranged in an environment that rejected the gallery as a cold professional space, opting instead for the familiar and communal. The opening was potluck, we lounged on cushy chairs, warm ambient light ruled, and records played on the stereo.
