Objects at the Window
This is an examination of a collection of personal objects which have no function other than to mark my connection with the past. Their values are tenuous as they are only mnemonic.
In this work light is equated with time and change. Cyanotype prints testify to the existence of the forms, painted and drawn overlays assert my relationships to them and fill the forms. The photographs both dissect and combine these images.
On one side of the installation the images are 35mm slides whose progression can be controlled by remote. On the other side many more digital images progress faster and at a constant pace. Both sides are efforts to quell the fear of the objects' meaning being lost which is impossible.
